Busy Beehives: A Muddy Kids Workshop
Do you like bees and want to learn more about them? Are you interested in making your own beehive with bees and honey out of clay? Join us for a fun and educational workshop where you will learn about the ways of bees while building a hive and glazing your handmade sculpture. No prior clay experience needed. You just need to be an elementary school kid.
Instructor Bio:
Kate Thornhill is a ceramic artist, librarian, and educator. With degrees in fine arts, art history, and librarianship, and over 15 years of children, teen, and adult classroom and one-on-one teaching and mentoring experience, Kate brings her love for storytelling, critical thinking, creativity, and play into the ceramics classroom. Her teaching philosophy is — let students lead. You can usually find Kate in the Wildling studio designing natural environment inspired pottery and sculptures.
